About us
ProEdX is a forward-thinking public benefit organisation, headquartered in South Africa, dedicated to transforming lives of everyday people by advancing educational excellence.
We registered our non-profit company (NPC) during the first half of 2024. Our application to be a registered public benefit organisation (PBO) was approved later in 2024. As a consequence donations made to or by ProEdX are exempt from Donations Tax under section 56(1)(h) of the Income Tax Act; while exemption from Estate Duty applies under section 4(h) of the Estate Duty Act No. 45 of 1955.
ProEdX is approved for section 18A(1)(a) status, meaning donors can claim tax deductions on contributions made to the organisation. Donors looking to claim the tax deduction will receive a tax-deductible receipt that includes ProEdX’s PBO number, the date of the donation, and the donor’s details. Fundraising events, ticket sales, raffles, and auctions do not qualify as deductible donations under section 18A.
ProEdX is black-beneficiary-focused with more than 95% of our beneficiaries being black South Africans. Companies that donate to black-beneficiary-focused PBOs may earn B-BBEE points under the Socio-Economic Development (SED) element of the B-BBEE scorecard. For a donation to qualify for B-BBEE points, at least 75% of the beneficiaries must be black South Africans as per the B-BBEE Act definition. Companies can claim 100% of their contribution as B-BBEE-recognised expenditure if this 75% threshold is met.
Being a public benefit organisation (PBO) means that all funds must be used exclusively for the public benefit activities approved under its PBO registration. We are approved for public benefit activities related to educational enrichment, academic support, supplementary tuition or outreach programmes for the poor and needy.
We have committed that no fiduciary, employee, or office bearer will benefit personally from the funds, except for reasonable remuneration. Further, ProEdX cannot and will not support, advance, or oppose any political party. And in the unlikely event that ProEdX is ever dissolved, its assets will be transferred to another PBO, an exempt state institution, or another qualifying non-profit entity. In short, any financial contribution you make to us will only go to worthy public benefit causes!
We believe that schools lie at the heart of society, acting as pivotal centres for community development. It is our mission to advance social mobility by empowering schools and underrepresented communities so that they can be the best that they can be. By improving access to resources, we equip learners, families, educators, and communities with the tools needed to thrive and ascend in modern society.

Our vision
A world where education unlocks opportunities for all, fostering equality and driving progress.
Our belief
Education is the cornerstone of progress, and every school is a community’s beating heart.
Our mission
We are dedicated to delivering high-quality education, particularly in underserved communities, empowering individuals to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
Our core values
Education as a Right (Educate)
Every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of socioeconomic background. We advocate for education as a fundamental human right and work to remove barriers that prevent equitable access to learning opportunities.
Empowerment Through Opportunity (Empower)
True empowerment comes when individuals have the tools, resources, and confidence to succeed. We create pathways for learners, educators, and communities to gain skills, knowledge, and opportunities that help them shape their own futures.
Equity and Inclusivity (Elevate)
We believe in a world where education uplifts all, not just a privileged few. By ensuring access to learning and embracing diverse perspectives, we foster an inclusive environment that values and nurtures the potential of every individual.
Collaboration for Community Growth (Educate... Empower... Elevate...)
Sustainable change happens when communities come together. We work alongside educators, learners, alumni, and partners to build strong, engaged communities that drive long-term progress in education, in communities and in social mobility.
